Voluntary reform for Local Government

Thanks for dropping in.

There's been a lot of public discussion about driving reform in Local Government, but one of the strongest advocates for reform is Local Government itself.

The WA Local Government Association believes that reform to create greater efficiency, better service delivery and more sustainable finances is vital.

And this process is already underway - without the need for enforcement. On the Reform Examples page of this site you'll find a huge variety of recent cases where Councils have voluntarily come together to improve their services and become better organisations.

Regional Cooperation / Local Representation

This is WALGA's key philosophy for reforming Local Government: improving services through regional collaboration, while maintaining and improving political representation at a local level.

The voluntary reform process is working. Explore this site to find out more.
